What-Went-Well: Day 2

26 Jun

What-Went-Well Exercise:

Every night for the next week, set aside ten minutes before you go to sleep.

Write down three things that went well today and why they went well.

  1. I overcame my fear today by climbing up a tall tree and sitting in the seat that was placed up there.
    1. My housemates were encouraging, helping me believing I could do it and they made the time and effort to place a nice chair in the tree, which created the desire in me to climb up and take a seat.
  2. I received a big tip at work today
    1. The costumers were very generous and in a good mood, giving me a compliment about how I did my job and leaving me a good tip.
  3. I felt good because I managed to complete several small tasks in the house today, which had to be done (for example making a water sprayer out of an empty spray cleaner, so we can spray the cats with a little water if they climb in the curtains or chew on the cables.)
    1. In the house I am living in a chalkboard was introduced pointing out small and easy tasks that need to be done. Because everyone is on the look-out and writes on it, it was easy for me to find some easy tasks I could do efficiently in a small amount of time.

Overall I had a good day today, which is the first time since a long while and it feels really good. I thought several times today about this exercise and I must admit it is a little harder then I expected but great to do nonetheless. After completing this exercise, I had a good feeling for I had the discipline to do it again. Let’s see what tomorrow brings.
